Survivable voice gateway / packet shaper
The main sales slogan of VoIP is: "reduce your total infrastructure maintenance cost via transferring voice over data infrastructure". Voice traffic should have priority over any data traffic in order to provide good voice quality. This can be accomplished by controlling all the office data and voice traffic, prioritizing voice and restricting data bandwidth. This can be accomplished even in case of an ADSL connection to the Internet.
The most reliable way to support E911 is to have a local analog phone line and route all emergency calls there through a local analog gateway. Local receptionist inbound calls would use the gateway too. Another benefit of a local line is fallback functionality in case of network failures.
Any internal calls (including conference calls) should stay in the office.
All the above would be resolved by our in-house designed and manufactured survivable voice gateway.
